Eat well and sleep well
The magical serenity, light and unpredictable nature of the winter mountains awaits you. If you stay with us, you are smack in the middle of nature, in the middle of Jotunheimen and in the middle of the Jotunheimen Haute Route, whilst still enjoying comfortable beds, home cooked meals and a warm fire.
Since the 1800s, our central location on the middle of Gjende and at the foot of Besseggen has made Memurubu a great place for mountain people to be. Stay with us in connection with your Besseggen hike or a longer hike around Jotunheimen, or you can stay here for several nights and explore more of the local surroundings. We have accommodation to suit everyone, with everything from simple dorms to rooms with a private bathroom and toilet.
As tradition dictates for mountain lodges in Norway, you are more than welcome to visit us without reserving room in advance. We never turn anyone away, and we always have an extra mattress at hand. However; in order to make your experience as pleasant as possible, we still recommend you reserve room in advance, so that you can be sure to get a bed, or even your own room.
Everything you need
We offer accommodation, breakfast and dinner in the mountain restaurant and tasty beverages and light meals in the mountain café. You can stay with us for one or several nights, or just drop by for a meal or some snacks for your hike in the mountains. We also offer a small variety of practical equipment for your hike, in case you have left something behind or just need something new. We are a privately owned lodge, but follow the same pricing strategy for accommodation and food as the Norwegian Trekking Association. During the winter season, we have some great offers on several day stays.
Weddings, parties or group hikes?
Are you dreaming of a special setting for your wedding, or want something cool for your party or birthday celebration? Or maybe you would like to organise a completely unique company or group trip? We have the facilities and nature your guests will not soon forget.
Ever since the 1800s, Memurubu has been a popular place for both man and beast. Today, Memurubu is a modern mountain lodge with 150 beds divided over different sized rooms – many of them with a private bathroom and toilet.
