Ever since the 1800s, both man and beast has found shelter and accommodation at Memurubu.
The current lodge is the result of continuous improvements and modernisations, and is one of the most modern lodges in Jotunheimen. Memurubu has a total of 150 beds divided over rooms with 2, 3, 4 and 5 beds, as well as 8 to 13 bed dorms. As tradition dictates for mountain lodges in Norway, the lodge is “never” full, and you do not need to reserve room in advance. However; if you want to be first in line for the best facilities, we recommend that you book in advance. On busy days, we might need to use both the sitting room and lounge in order to find room for everyone.
In the newest building, there are 12 family rooms with room for up to 38 people. All rooms are of a high standard with showers and toilets. There is also a common room with a balcony in the house. The house is ideally suited for family or company gatherings.
Memurubu also offers meeting and conference arrangements. The numerous large sitting rooms are perfect for large parties and gatherings.
If you would like to sleep in a tent, we have camping spots with a separate shoreline and a panoramic view down by the Gjende lake.
Norwegian mountain lodges are known for always finding extra room. The same applies to us. When you have been out walking all day, you will never have to be met by closed doors with a sign saying “Sorry, no vacancy”. At times, however, this philosophy also makes it difficult to predict the amount of guests to feed and accommodate. There may be some delays during the busiest periods with regards to service and room distribution. We do our best to please everyone, and we hope that you can appreciate that we always have room for you, as we appreciate your understanding when the lodge is jam-packed.
