Mountain restaurant
In the mountain restaurant, we serve breakfast and three course meals to everyone – both overnight guests and those dropping by for a tasty meal.
Breakfast is served from 08:00 to 09:00. The breakfast service may start earlier if we have many guests. The breakfast buffet consists of food to ready you for a good day in the mountains, such as homemade brown bread, porridge and an array of cheeses, jams, fish and meat spreads. We make most of the breakfast ourselves at the lodge with local produce from the local area and the rest from Gudbrandsdalen. Make yourselves a solid packed lunch for your hike, and fill up your Thermos with hot water, tea or coffee.
Three course dinner
When you come back down after a day in the mountains, you still have time for a little rest and a shower before dinner is usually served at 19:00. During the busiest summer periods we operate with two sittings. We serve three course meals every day, offering local menus with fish, cured meats, burgers, elk and reindeer. Our goal is to always serve you tasty food in generous portions.
Mountain café
Drop by our mountain café on your way to or from Besseggen. We offer tasty beverages and light meals.
The mountain café is open from 07:45 to 22:00, and it is a great place to relax before or after your hike over Besseggen. We offer coffee, waffles, light meals, chocolate and the beverage you dream about in those tough hills up and down the ridge. You can sit inside in rough weather, and outside when it is sunny. Whatever you choose, you get a panoramic view towards the mountains and Gjende.
