The bathrooms in the rooms are not in use during the winter, so there is a shared shower and toilet in the basement.
Camping/tent
If you want to stay overnight in a tent, we have tent sites with their own shoreline and panoramic views down by Gjende lake. Please contact the reception to be assigned a tent site.
Since the 1800s, our central location on the middle of Gjende and at the foot of Besseggen has made Memurubu a great place for mountain people to be. The lodge has been expanded and modernised over the course of many years, and is currently one of the most modern lodges in Jotunheimen.
150 beds, 12 family rooms
As tradition dictates for mountain lodges in Norway, you are more than welcome to visit us without reserving room in advance. We never turn anyone away, and we always have an extra mattress at hand. However; in order to make your experience as pleasant as possible, we still recommend you reserve room in advance, so that you can be sure to get a bed, or even your own room.
Memurubu has a total of 150 beds in rooms with 2, 3, 4 and 5 beds as well as dormitories with 8 to 13 beds. Most rooms have their own bathroom with shower and toilet. In the newest building you will find 12 family rooms with space for a total of 38 people. All rooms are of a high standard with shower and toilet. In the building you will also find a common living room with a balcony. The building is ideal for family or company gatherings.
Gatherings and workshops
Memurubu is perfect for special events courses, workshops and conferences. The many large rooms are ideal for larger groups and gatherings, such as weddings and celebrations.
