If you enjoy fishing, there are plenty of excellent opportunities around here.
Besides Gjende, you can fish in Hesttjønn, which is an hour’s walk from Memurubu. The trip from here to Memurutunga is not too far either, about 1.5 hour. You can fish with a rod, and otter fishing is permitted for all Norway residents, with a few exceptions.
Fishing with permanent equipment is permitted only for residents in the area. You are obligated to familiarise yourself with local fishing regulations. You can buy 24-hour, three-day, weekly and seasonal cards in the reception. The card applies to rod fishing. As usual, children under the age of 16 fish for free. Boat rental is available.
