If you would like to walk to or from Memurubu but don’t want to walk over Besseggen, there is a lovely walk along the shore to Gjendesheim.
This idyllic hike has lots to offer, especially if you are interested in the flora. The temperature underneath the mountainsides below Besseggen is “tropical” compared to the surrounding area. It is a nice hike in all sorts of weather, but if walking over Besseggen proves to be too tough, this is a great alternative.
